WEB COPY FOR CHOPSTICK COMPANY

About/Story

Never underestimate the power of a bowl of soup. While steaming his face over a bowl of noodles at a pho stall in Hanoi, founder Duke ___(<last name) began his lifelong romance with chopsticks. He became an expert on Asian cuisine--from the dark and dirty (yet delicious) alleys of Vietnam, to the high-end restaurants of Japan. For more than a decade, he bounced around from China, Japan, Taiwan to Vietnam, gobbling up thousands of noodle bowls as we went. Duke grew up in Australia but prefers the traditions and culture of Asia, especially the food. The mission became simple: teach the world how to slow down, grow more mindful, grab a beautiful set of chopsticks, and enjoy their meals.

In Japan, each member of a family has their very own pair of chopsticks. They are prized possessions and more than just eating utensils… they become poetic extensions of the owner’s personality. The term hashi means “bridge” in Japanese. It’s a recurring metaphor in Japanese storytelling, taking on a variety of interpretations. But chopsticks might be the perfect representation of “hashi.”  The bridge to life. Slender and smooth. Gentle clicks and quiet taps that brush the side of the rice bowl and gracefully feed each soul nourishment. We hope you’ll be inspired to find your very own hashi.

WRITING FOR VARIOUS PROFILES

ABOUT ME --1st person---young actor in Boston

Grounded.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from my time as an actor, it’s that you’ve got to stay grounded. I was lucky enough to grow up in a supportive small town in New Hampshire that nurtured authenticity and kindness. I was raised to put others first, to have compassion and to love people. That kind of environment helped my creativity blossom into something really special.

“What Would Dolly Parton Do?”

I’ve always been a bit of a showman. I learned how to juggle. I love to sing, dance and brighten up a dreary party. One time, I even turned my basement into a Haunted House so I could scare my friends! I love coaxing people out of their comfort zone and welcoming them into my little world. These days, everyone needs a little more magic in their lives.

“Princess to Protagonist”

My first gig as an actor was when I was 16 years old. I was a Disney Princess for birthday parties, and I loved every minute of it. Those children smiling up at me---some of them actually screamed---well, I was hooked. As my theatrical roles advanced, I began to appreciate the community of actors that took me under their wing and showed me the ropes. My favorite part about acting is collaborating with so many talented people. I’ve learned so much from my mentors. Thanks to them, I’m confident that I can be a valuable asset to any production. With each new role, I grow as an actor and as a person.

My most recent role was a supporting lead in a Lifetime movie, but I also do commercial work and modeling. I’m based in the NY/Boston area. You’ll notice on my resumé that I’m always developing new skills as an actor. And I’m excited to see what’s in store for me in the next few years.

SALES SNIPPET FOR FASHION BRAND

Picnic Broderie is an avant-garde embroidery shop that specializes in free-hand stitching. Unusual, poetic designs featuring nude grecian lovers, lobsters and a jokester satan magnify the artist’s tongue-in-cheek style. These are not your grandmother’s embroidery patterns, though you will find some adorable baguette bags that she would love. In addition to her online shop, owner Amelia Phythian also accepts commissions from fellow designers, bridal shops, chic gift-givers and interior decorators seeking special housewares.

Slow-fashion, art and vintage clothing? What’s not to love?

Amelia Phythian’s embroidery combines her instinctive eye for textile design with the cleverness of her art. After studying fashion design and menswear in London, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to study fine art at SCAD. After graduating, she moved back home to Manchester, England to prepare for her move to France. During this time, Amelia worked as a freelance painter while she sold rare vintage clothing online. When she’s not listening to an old record and stitching a masterpiece, she’s reading about astronomy, dancing to Madonna or walking her dog on the streets of Marseille.
